Hey guys,

About to fit the water pump back onto the small block Chev. One of the bolts goes through into the water jacket.

Which sealant do you guys use on the thread? I've got some GM Sealant on the shelf, and also some of that Loctite #3 Aviation Sealant. Either of those? It's been too long I've forgotten all this stuff :o

I usually use the RTV Silicone (Blue) when putting water pumps & other gaskets like rocker cover etc.

Seeing this is your baby... and I ain't a mechanic, I would wait to see what others post also. But the RTV should do the trick for ya.

just ask shannon and brenton about old sealants bringing you undone haha think thats the reason why propain has the engine out

We used to use permatex but as said above either of yours would work
