Eastside Cruisers

After seeing UBSLOW's thread on his recent chrome-work, it got me thinking about what I'd like to chrome next myself... the bumper bars on my hatchback would be good to do!

So anyway, I thought it would be handy to have a list of the various chrome-platers around. If you have any good experiences, or suggestions of where to go, please let us know.....

I have personally used AA Vinneys in the past, fantastic quality. I've also seen FTG Platers chrome on mates cars, and also did a workshop tour with these guys - once again, absolutely fantastic quality, I would happily use them too. UBSLOW used Star Plating, and his chrome looks mint as well! So there's lots of good options....

I didn't realise how much chrome plating costs have risen in the last 10 years since I built LXCHEV. I just got a quote for LH/LX Torana bars, and both FTG Platers and AA Vinney's said $350 each, changeover. Ouch. But you get what you pay for. I haven't got a price yet through Star Plating cos they didn't answer their phone. I'll post up once I find out.

did you end up getting a price for the 3rd chrome platers i think there is one on canterbry road some where

How about zinc platers etc too? I'd like to get some stuff zinc plated because I'm a tightarse and I think it looks quite good throughout the engine bay. I've also heard people say that there are quite a few colours of zinc plating available nowadays that I never knew of before. Like black?

Another Bump, i wouldn't mind getting some stuff in my engine bay zinc plated (Hinges etc)
