hi guys, getting engine bay painted in my LJ Torana in a few days (yay!), need to decide pretty quickly satin black or gloss black (don't want same colour of my car - ie yellow) - I was keen on gloss black but have been told it shows up more dust, scratches and imperfections in metal surface. any thoughts?

gloss does show up more imperfections but pay the extra mate to have the bay smoothed a bit and go gloss its easy to clean and really brightens it up.

Satin hides all the stuff ups and is probably a little more forgiving than gloss will be

If Leigh is doing it, you know its going to look great! So I'd go Gloss...

Yep ditto what has been said above.

If you want more of a show-look, gloss all the way - but you'll need to make sure it's in good nick, and then look after it.

If you want more of a neat/maintenance-free/factory look, with the benefit of hiding imperfections, then go satin black.

Just my opinion for your car with a bright colour - gloss baby

You guys a killing me lol I'm leaning towards satin now we have removed the battery tray and found some surprises we are going to work with what we got but working to a dead line and budget might be fun lol

I know you said you dont want Yellow, but if your going to the effort, it would be a really impresive when you pop the hood.

Both Gloss and Satin BLACK are hard to keep clean. Gloss as impresive as its looks when new, want look like that good forever.
