Tim's approach sounds pretty good. It reminds me of something that the guys at Pedders told me many years ago..

I can't remember the exact figures, but it was basically something along these lines:

1. Choose your springs - this makes up approx 60% of your suspension setup

2. Now match with the correct shockers - this is approx 30%

3. Finish tweaking with sway bars if required - this is approx 10%

They were the key components. Obviously you need to have good bushes and stuff too.

Ryan - sounds like your setup is pretty decent with those components. The springs sound good. I assume you bought good quality shocks? Maybe lowering the car would help. Especially the rear if they are standard factory height springs? Just thinking out loud.

yeah the shocks are kybs i think they made a huge difference when i put them on gonna have a crack at fitting the sway bar
what thickness steel would be best for boxing the trailing arms

its got factory front bar it will be upsized was thinking about a front mount out

go a whiteline front mount swaybar kit as they work really well, we run them on all of our torries and i found it worked better than the old larger than stock rear mount swaybar even tho they were the same thickness, plus it gives you heaps more room for larger pipes!

Hey Shannon, are the Whiteline front-mount front bars just a simple "bolt-in" fit, or is there any welding for brackets or anything required?

I'm very keen to fit a front-mount bar on LXCHEV. Got any photos of yours?
