just wondering what every one used with the 9 inch diffs i cant stand how mine hadles without one its pox like driving a boat does boxing the trailing arms help?

any better brands?
who makes them?

i cant seem to find to much info pedders dont do any rear sway bars according to there website

is there a universal ones that can be adapted

I got mine from pedders in lilydale they get them made to suit 9 inchs

we have 3 torries with 9"s in them and the std thick ss/slr rear swaybar fits perfectly, is it a std style 9" housing?
boxing the rear arms wont help with handling(to the degree of a swaybar) but it is recommended if your putting decent power into it
if the std swaybar doesnt fit then maybe a whiteline one may do the job

how much did it cost to get custom made?

From memory mine was about $200 sold as a kit with all the mounting hardware but he looked after me pretty good so dont no what they retail for

My LX has a 9" rear, and I'm also using the standard swaybar that was previously fitted to my old bango. It just bolted straight up.

As for boxing the trailing arms, I think it's a good idea to do this too (stitch welding). Did it to mine and has been fantastic, both on the road in general, and also on the drag strip. My car also has a chassis kit fitted, so that's probably the single biggest thing helping rigidity and handling.

Even without a rear swaybar, your car should still handle ok. What are your springs and shocks like?

Maybe I should have another look at why mine didnt fit... Anyone got some pics of their setups?

I'm not that fussed, as i didn't noticed much of a handling change when i lost the sway bar...

Doubt I have photos of mine, but I will check when I get a chance.

I don't notice drastic changes either with it removed.

OK I am going to take a slightly different approach. Now bear in mind where I am coming from. I race and this is how I setup my race cars (and most of my road going cars).

Firstly forget the sway bar idea it is not the problem. Even in my VL track car I removed the standard rear sway bar. Things you will need to do are...

1. Box the trailing arms (this is not for your problem but for issues that will result later for driving hard once the car is setup)
2. Get 10% heavy duty springs in the rear of the car (this is part of your issue rear springs too soft)
3. Replace the shocks so that they can control your new springs. (your shock are working too hard to control your tired springs they will not be up to par with new springs.)
4. Upgrade front springs. (you will need this other wise your rear will be stiffer than the front and thus produce huge understeer, as the front tyres loose grip levels dramatically.
5. Put nolathane or non rubber bushes in the lower trailing arms only and new rubber in upper trailing arms while you have the diff out (this will give the diff more control to the car)
6. Upgrade your front sway bar this will also help mid corner.

With the above you should end up with a car with far more manners and less boat like.
