With the chassis done attention was turned to the drive line!

I found a running Turbo 400 auto on E-bay for $162.40, which i figured i could afford to rebuild if it was not what it was said to be.

I checked over the 283 that i got with the car & decided it needed a rebuild. Instead i sold it & bought a 350 & rebuilt that. I hot tanked all the bits, had new cam bearings fitted & honed the bores. The valves were all reseated & a new cam & lifters fitted. I reused the original pistons with new rings & bearings through out. Then painted the whole lot straight red tinter!

I used the 283 for dummy fitting the auto so that i could fab up a custom gearbox crossmember, as T400 is not a factory fitment for this car.

I didn't have the tail shaft done in time for the pics..... that was made to suit with all new uni's & centre bearing fitted to mate up to the T400 also.

The auto got a service, a spraycan rebuild & straight in!

At this stage i also recieved my disc brake conversion for the front, which i fitted up too.

By the time this was all done i vertually had a rolling chassis & drive line. This got put aside & we made a start on the bodywork! Occasionally i worked on the engine & chassis too.... eg custom building an altenator & mounting, fitting exhaust, shifter brackets, etc.....

Hey bro I've seen this sick ride cruising around Boronia. Man its a beast! I'd love to get around in something like that! I would absolutely love to see inside it, maybe we can catch up at a cruise day! You will have to see my Gemini, it runs 11's!
