Eastside Cruisers

Hi guys. Thought I'd post some pics of my '76 LX sedan....

This is my baby which I bought way back in 1996 and then re-built from the ground up around 1999-2000. Since the original build, it's had lots of other improvements, the main one being replacing the hot 202 for a nice mild 383 stroked Chev.

















It was a daily driver for a long time, before I finally bough another Torana to get around in. So these days it's now more of a weekend cruiser. I got into a little bit of drag racing for a while, squeezing out a best of 11.77 @ 114MPH in full street trim, driven to Calder.

I won't go into all the build-up details, because I've already done that on all the other forums! But here are just the basic specs:

Engine: 383 Chev, 10:1 comp, SRP forged pistons, 6" rods, Pro Topline 'Pro Lightning' iron heads, RPM Air-Gap dual plane intake, BG 825 Mighty Demon, ICE ignition system.

Trans: TH350 with 3200 stall & shift kit, B&M Megashifter.

Diff: Ford 9" with 3.7's, and 31 spline Moser axles.

Exhaust: Custom Tri-Y's with twin 2.5" system.

Fuel System: Brown Davis 120 litre droptank, built in swirlpot and 1/2" pickup, 1/2" line, Holley billet HP mechanical pump.

Brakes: HQ discs & HZ drums, Commodore master cylinder & custom booster.

Suspension: Pedders Sports-Ryder shocks, King Springs (front), Commo springs (rear), boxed trailing arms, HQ stubs etc.

Wheels & Tyres: Convo Pro's 15 x 4 and 15 x 10's, 165/80 Michelin's and 265/50 Jetzons.

Paint: Galaxy Blue metallic 2-pack with clear.

Interior: Autometer gauges, custom trimming, JVC stezza, Pioneer splits, and Kenwood rears.

Just for a laugh... found an old chop job that Dan did years ago. Micro Machines rule!

This car is a real work of art,
It sounds bloody angry,
Goes like sh*t off a shovel,
frys tyres like they are butter,
Looks tough as nails,
does 360,s like a go cart on ice
And you can drive it anywhere.
And after all these years of driving the wheels off it, LXCHEV still looks unreall.
I personaly think this car would have to be the most repected muscle car in the car club.
I dont think you could have built a better all rounder muscle car if you tried.
If you ever want to sell it let me know

Cheers gents, it means a lot. Can you believe I've had this thing for nearly 14 years, yikes.

I have so many huge plans for the car... but I'll be lying pretty low for a couple of years now as I play with the mortgage, house reno's, and the new baby. Fingers crossed not too far down the track I can put my new plans into action, and return to entering all the big events and racing regularly again.

LXCHEV is certainly one of the coolest rides in the club IMO. I will never forget the DECA day when I got to go for a ride in the beast, fark....... it was just simply an awesome ride.

A real credit to you Bretto.

Just for reference, from the weighbridge cruise yesterday, the beast has weighed in at 1380kg, carrying around 30-40litres of juice.





And I forgot to mention a while ago guys that I won the tatts so I fitted up a dirty stinkin' big hottie new donk!
