Actually dont the engine mounts come off the front cross member for early commodores if memory serves me correct?

By looking at that picture bascially move everything forwards 50mm , you can always relocate the radiator into the boot or underneath lots of playing around but it clears the whole front up especially since it doesnt really matter since the car is a burn out car the thermo fans will do the cooling anyway.

After reading all that I've got a few concerns.
It sounds like the fit of a naturaly aspirated bbc is an issue with pipes on it's own. The fit seems as though it becomes even more complicated with blower pullies thrown on the front. Then it's been suggested that you're adding another 80lbs in front of front axle line, so even though it may not be built to handle it's certainly going to get worse. Then trans tunnel clearence issues.
But for what gain? Is it the 'coolness' factor?
Surely and LSx motor would be the logical choice?

its all about the cubes and doing something differnt champ. every one is goign lsx hence why im making it a last resort..

i saw a vn at easternats a few years ago with a big block in it. looked to fit pretty well

also, a real 14-71 on a 500-540 cube motor will make BIG boost, i was about to build mine with a 14-71 ssi teflon coated blower, but to run it in its effiency range it will be making min 25-30 psi. so unless its a show pony or an all out drag car, its a total waste of time, you will have to run methanol, with atleast 16 injectors or nitro with at least 24 injectors, aluminium rods, which have to be replaced after every 3rd meet, every meet you will need to pull it down, check bearings, studs, bolts, drop the oil Every time you run it, flush the lines out if you are leaving it for longer than a month, if its nitro, you will want to totally drain the system every time.

then get a drive line to handle the grunt, and say goodby to having a straight vk, the windscreen will crack the first time you blip the throttle.

Correct me if incorrect Mr Adam wouldnt it be the idea to actually then put a smaller version 8/71 etc to bring the psi down down ?
I understand by changing pulleys you alter the speed etc , but as you go bigger it allows to make bigger boost .

Every 15 psi is equal to double HP range so you can imagine the abuse inside the motor trying to extract 3 times its asiparted hp range when winding its neck to 30psi.

you can change the rotor clearances to make the blower less efficient if its purely a looks thing rather than a horsepower factor.

A mate and i have attempted this on a vn with a 468 bbc with success , hq mounts line straight up to v8 x member but rack fowles on sump so had to mod sump and pick up , also brake booster will need relocation a remote booster will do the trick then rest is pretty easy
