Come along to the meeting tonight (Check out the runlist on the homepage) and you can chat to other members and you'll see the value you get from your membership. I don't think any of our members have ever been disappointed with the bang for buck of our memberships!

Eastside Cruisers is the best damn car club is Australia! I'd be happy for any other club to try and challenge us for that as well! Anything they can do... We can do better! (Not bigger... just better!!!!!)

dickyboy, I'd like to jump in here and answer your question regarding what benefits there are for financial members:

Here's just a few things off the top of my head:

* Option to attend 'Member Only' events such as our DECA Skidpan days - non members CANNOT enter
* Full colour newsletters 6 times per year
* Public liability insurance cover
* Keyring which entitles you to genuine discounts at various outlets (Rare Spares, Autobarn, R&E etc etc)
* Various free BBQ lunches, catered Christmas parties, etc.. and other heavily subsidised events
* Discounted prices for events such as Dyno Day - non members pay a higher price
* Eligibility for club trophies, awards, and prize packs

That's the main stuff, but there's heaps more. For $40 a year ($60 only in the first year), no one can argue that is not damn good value.

From what I can tell, most serious car clubs these days have annual membership fees around the $40 - $50 mark. Just out of curiosity, do the Mitsubishi clubs run professional events such as skidpan days or are they more about cruises? I think these style of events are what sets ESC apart from the crowd. Unless you start looking at really, really serious clubs that charge hundreds per year, but run circuit racing style events.

PS. Just getting back to the original topic for a second, I like the Tangcla photoshoot idea, look like some pretty funky photos. Certainly something I'd be up for when my car is back on the road. I would love to see more creative people like that getting involved with ESC on a regular basis.

Cheers.

great comments Brett -
to Richard/dickyboy, I would highly recommend joining ESC, it is excellent value and a very well run club. Lots of events, I joined ESC because of the variety of cars in the club plus ESC have drag days at Heathcote, dyno days and DECA Skidpan day and are more into active stuff with cars and are less into static type show n shine displays.

ok guys, i will try and make it to next months club meet at upper gully. just need time and date of the one for July. and yes, Aus Magna Club hold dyno days, drag days at heatcote etc and the have a national meet every year in the eastern states. this year its in october in victoria and runs for one whole week. the members from interstate head over to do display days, go-karts, paintball, general cruising and dinners etc.

i will see if tangcla can make it along to next months club meet as well.

on the subject of what i hope to get out of the club, is mainly cruising, maybe enter a dyno day. i would like to drag my car sometime, just to get an idea of what she can do. i like going to display days, but i never really display my own cars, i dont consider mine to be good enough. my car is my daily too and from work, weekend cruiser etc, so i have to keep it reliable and not kill it on a dyno or drag strip, so those 2 ideas will be a one off for me to enter, but i like to go and spectate and support others in the club if its worthy enough. the main problem i have come across with some clubs etc is finding people willing to cruise over winter and also managing to avoid cruising with idiots that would rather do burnouts etc, drawing bad attention to cruises. and im not one for cruising chapel street or a group of 100s of cars, (thats just asking for trouble). my car is no ball tearing streeter, just a clean, modern ride with some nice wheels, ride height etc. the good thing about the magna, is it looks good for the bagging it gets from others who own holdens or fords, but doesnt draw attention to itself, unlike the other brands. i like the fact that HOON and POLICE ATTENTION are to 2 things you are unlikely to hear when you think of mitsubishi magna. i prefer my cars to cruise under the radar, instead of saying look at me...

good honest comments Richard, best way to know if you want to join a club is go to a few meetings and cruises. Next mtg is on 26 July in FTG, we have a couple of good cruises coming up, this friday night is Go-Kart night in Moorabbin and on 17 July is a club car display/family day at Caribbean Gardens in Scoresby, details under Run List tab on this website.
