then a bit more work
it looks and feels like its good quality, also being non crimping parts there wont be any hassles when it comes to putting the 0gauge in.
here is why i needed to change it.
boot
under bonnet
the old positive terminal had been sitting against the hood lining too so that's another reason to fix it.
so now it all looks like this.
Boot
Grounds in the boot.
Bonnet
i also put a 4Chan a,mp that came with the whole sub setup when i bought it, same with the 6x9s
so thats how it sits now. all i need is some 0gauge so i can move the amp off the box and move the battery under the floor, any recommendations for good 0gauge im open to. i need 30-50ft. at the same time ill be putting a new sub box in and see how much louder i can get it!
after that back to BOOST!
the car went from this...
to this...
and makes this noise....
http://youtu.be/6xHEgHAnIpsthen a new tune
i must say its nice to be able to put the boot in now. there was a small hickup of mne not having the fuel reg right

but CVE fixed that up.
got it on the rollers and all tuned up.
thats at a max of 4psi boost
i need to get a larger throttle organized and then work on the rest of the exhaust so there's no restriction there.
im happy. it drives well pulls hard and has no traction at all in the wet. and i love the whine!
http://youtu.be/XRy9Xy4Kyoothen suspention again
so i spent a day making the car a little more low then high then low and yeah i can go up and down like a yo-yo. down for car shows and up for long trips.
anyways i started from what i was happy with. low in anyone's books still.
then i took it all out. what i had was pedders lowered shocks and king-spring super-lows. side by side with the XYZ coil-overs you can see the height difference was going to be drastic. thats at its lowest setting.
then i started to work on getting it so i can drive and a height that is as low as possible without loosing my gaurds.
it wont stay this height for too long i have a new set of poly-air load bags to bring the back up then ill level the front out and keep it legal. after cruise for charity that is.
with more power i need to stop....
just a little update. i have a "upc" 330mm brake kit sitting in the shed now in Post AU offset all i need is a set of post AU 19" GT-P's so i have have a pair on the front.
also went to Boosted Cruise For Charity last month and displayed with Jason from TIperformance. had a great time.
made it into the "yourFord.com.au" video and there feature page!
http://yourford.com.au/2012/news/booste ... rity-2012/here are some photos:
the new sub box is taking a toll on the windscreen though. its starting to go at the rear vision mirror.
i also got around after C4C to put the "polyair" bags back under the back and a wound the front up some more to get the bumper off the road.
i dont like it this high

and ether dose the 2 piece tailshaft. i get a vibration in the back under heavy acceleration with it this high. it will come back down soon. then ill be happy
then drags
Went to heathcote on sunday for the test and tune. couolda picked a day that wasnt 40 degrees tho....
best run i could get on my 19s was a 15.7. i just had no traction at all. after that i swaped to a set of slicks i had.
slicks made a huge difference. my pb was 14.5 at 93mph in 39degree heat, after that i couldn't manage any other runs close to beating that. i did get 10 runs in. there wernt too many cars there because of the heat.
i did run a better mph on a slower run. i got a 97mph on a 15second run.
anyway its now time for more boost, more intake mods, new exhaust and water meth intercooling. after all thats done ill go again and see how much faster i can go.
on a side note i had CVE tweek the tune last week as ive been running really rich and my fuel economy was horrendous, i had been getting a constant 28l per 100k. now on Sunday on the drive to heathcotte and the runs down the strip and then the drive home i got 15l per 100k so i can now afford to drive again.
then i need to stop so
not too much has happened untill the last couple of weeks, ive just been driving it.
untill i started hearing a metal on metal noise from the front brakes. hmmm time to put the big brakes in that have been in the shed for 2 months.
the kit went on without any real hassles, we needed to adjust the toe of the car because the tie rod ends on the uprights were 5mm further out than my old ones and the cheap 17s i got only just fit over the calipers. i did get some 18's to put on but the hole for the hub wasnt big enough to fit. ive swapped them for some ba xr6 17's.
apart from that i have put a 3.4" pulley on the blower and its upped the boost, i need a tune as it pings at high revs so im thinking of pulling the timing back a bit with the dizzy. i dont know how 4psi kept me happy now its 9-10psi and its a huge difference.
with the extra power i dont need the 3.45 diff gears so its time to go back to a 3.23 and change to an au diff at the same time. im also going to work out how to get the au handbrake working with the ed cables and leaver. idk how but i will.
im aiming to tidy up the sub box and get the diff in by AFD then tune and meth injection after.
changed the diff and wheels
well i had AllFordDay in Geelong last weekend and after a madish rush to get the au diff in and a set of matching wheels with RWC rubber got it all together.
and the boot
now the lead-up to AFD SA! this will be the 1st year im going and im KEEN as with a new tune and extra power the roadtrip will be a good drive! if anyone is at AFD SA come up and say hi.
then bigger battery and new hid's
so a few little things, i changed the globes in the headlights from 6000k to 4300k. a little less attention and its better driving now. i still have the 100W hid hi-beams so i can see everything when i need.
also got a new battery for the boot, the old Challenger 40ah wasnt cutting it.
last and not least, its getting tuned tomorrow morning. expecting 200-220rwkw and sorta hoping for a surprise....
its getting new injectors and meth intercooler to bring the intake temps down and maby bring power up a little. i think its more to look after the blower and on the 35degree days we have been having i might not have as much heat soak.
MORE BOOST
so today was the day, and plans changed... sorta.
the plan was to have the meth injection on, fit the new injectors, fit the new throttle ant plenum and then tune it.
it ended up getting the injectors and then tuned. the meth didn't get here in time and the throttle hasn't ether. you get that.
so with that we put it on the dyno (we being CVE) and then i waited and watched. without meth and the throttle i was only expecting 200rwkw maby 220rwkw max and after a little bit of fiddling on one of the 1st power runs it did
that made me smile, Paul just quietly kept working away, not saying too much and then did another power run
228rwkw, im happy with that right where i wanted.
""]
then .... ""].
so i must say im stoked. now to put the water/ meth intercooler on and big throttle then one more dyno run... (i said that last dyno run...)
thats it. im off to SA for All Ford Day next weekend ill have photos and more updates then.
update time...
all ford day SA was well worth the time and effort. (and fuel)
we left around 3pm on sat after work and headed off to Murray Bridge for the night.
we made ok time to Horsham where we had a mate waiting for us with a busted radiator hose, after we fixed that and kept going we drove into the night.
it was dark buy the time we hit SA and didn't really take any more photos. i must say though we couldn't do the drive without the 100W hid hi-beams. no one was fatigued or stressed at all because we could see everything!
that said the lights took there own toll on the car in the form of bugs.
so after we washed the cars and we all went off to Birdwood for the display.
was a good well organized set up. we had a good spot in the shade and only having 5 cars didn't take long to get set up.
then we went for a look around and a mozy through the motor museum.
After 4 and the winners were announced we started to head back home. sorta.
we had decided that we would take the coast home because why not. so once we got to Murray Bridge and all topped up fuel and food we head for the coast.
we hit the coast just at dusk and decided it was also dinner time, so we parked and got out the BBQ.
from there it was more darkness and driving until we got tired. we called it a night at Robe and all slept in the cars. when we woke up we were surprised buy how good the views were.
after a stop at the beach in Robe for a cold shower and breaky we started back for the border then home.
everyone had a good time, and i think where all keen on getting to NSW All Ford Day in July now.
on the car side of things it didn't miss a beat, really surprised me with the fuel economy. around town i get 25-30l/100km on the hwy it dropped to 12l/100km. was able to fill up most the time with 98 or 100ron but the last tank was caltex 95... and the car hates it. i cant boost at all or it pings so ill be using that as fast as i can to put the usual united 100 in.
3" exhaust
It doesn't have a. Tailpipe section atm because it is made for a sedan, should be able to quiet it down later this week and then a tune. Hopefully a little bit more power.
Anyway here is a video of the exhaust.
