Well what can I say – the club’s first ever Trivia Night was nothing other than a huge success! Months of hard work and preparation had gone into this night from Liz and her team of assistant’s, and the final result certainly showed it! It was great to see so many people along for the night, with everyone bringing heaps of friends, family and mates. The fun and games kicked off at Tirhatuan Golf Club in Rowville around 7:30pm. Arranged in teams of 8, people attempted to get their brains into gear, as they battled for points against their neighbouring tables. There was a great mix of weird and wonderful questions, which kept the night interesting and sparking off all sorts of conversations! From Science, to Music, to Finding Nemo, and of course Knight Rider! I think you get the idea of the variety! With our very own main man, Andrew, doing the honors of hosting the night, we certainly got treated to some interesting jokes too! Well done mate, you did a top job!! Through-out the evening, in amongst each round of questions, we also got to play games, such as tossing coins at bottles of alcohol – yep, you guessed it, the winner kept the bottle! There were also raffles, and lucky dips too, with just everybody getting something cool! As for the prizes – I was absolutely blown away at the sheer amount of quality prizes these guys had managed to come up with!! I know they put in a lot of effort chasing sponsors, but I never imagined the end result – literally tables full of gear - car accessories & products, various prize packs, vouchers, and all sorts of other fantastic goodies, it was great! Make sure to check out the list of sponsors on the next page, without their support it would not have been possible. By the end of the night, it had come down to the wire. The winners were announced, and each person received a medallion to hang around their neck, complete with bragging rights!! Overall though, it really was an absolute ripper of a night. It turns out we also broke Tirhatuan Golf Clubs’ record for bar sales too! What a claim to fame! A HUGE thank you to Liz for organizing such a smooth, professional night – well done! And also her team who helped bring the night together – Mel, Tam, Renee, Dave J and Andrew, thanks to everyone. Not forgetting all the other people who helped chase prizes for the night too – it was a huge task, but one that came together so well and made the night a top success. I swear I’ve never seen so many prizes before!!!! Thank you to all the sponsors, and the people and companies that kindly donated prizes -your support is greatly appreciated. Considering this was the club’s main fundraiser for the year, the night certainly achieved it’s goal there too, with a fantastic profit in excess of $1000. Our chosen charity, Montrose CFA, also received 10% of the profits. Here are the results of the evening, thanks and well done to each table:
