Two Run Run – Night Cruise

9th July 2004

We know that everyone loves pancakes, or at least I do. In the quest to find new and inventive ways to combine pancakes and cruising, the ‘Two Run Run’ was devised by little Dave.

The reasoning behind the name The Two Run Run was, you guessed it – Two different ways to get to Doncaster Pancake Parlour. Mind you one way was longer than the other. Lee and I were lucky we had the short run – but we still managed to beat the first group who left 10 minutes before us. Our journey consisted of traveling through Boronia, up through Ferntree Gully and past Brandon Park Shopping Centre.

Along Dorset Road we came across a tidy HQ Monaro who fell into the cruise line for the length of Dorset Road. Further along Ferntree Gully Road it was amusing to watch a pair of early model Holden’s embarrass a car load of boys in a late model Falcon at the traffic lights. Also along Springvale Road it was good to see that the Eastsider’s weren’t the only ones out for a good night on the road, where we got passed by a trio of late model rice burners with big shiny wheels, itty biddy brakes and an A-pillar full of gauges.

Lee was slightly disappointed that he missed out on going on the long run because he missed out on driving through the twisty and windy roads.

Once everyone had parked their cars, we all headed inside to get warm and treat ourselves to yummy pancakes and other goodies! And of course, to also have a chit chat with those who went on the other run.

Over all the night was a big success and next time we will have to go down early in the week for samples night!

Till next time I hope to see you on the next cruise.
