The Eastside Cruisers 3rd Birthday party was held at the Tirhatuan Golf Club on a lovely cold Saturday night in July. With our tickets prepaid, all that was required was to rock up on the night with a bit of cash for some drinks throughout the night. There was obviously a fair bit of work done behind the scenes prior to the night, as the room was decorated and there was plenty of nibbles and hot food floating past all night (well done guys and girls, you know who you are!). There were also a few games and competitions held throughout the night to keep us entertained. It was certainly a sight to see dozens of adults playing pass-the-parcel!! Not sure if it was rigged, as President Dave happened to win the grand prize, which was pretty funny! (Nah seriously, I am sure that there was no dodgy shenanigans involved in the outcome!). Personally, I reckon the best part of the night was the highlight reel of photos scrolling through on the TV. There were photos of club events from way back in the beginning, and it was great to see some of the cars that had been and gone, making way for new projects. It was a bit like sitting through a slide show with your grandparents, only it was not of some family holiday in the 1960’s, it was of cool cars cruising the streets of Melbourne! Anyway, the whole night was a success, with much fun and laughter had by all who attended. And of course there was the birthday cake – what else but a Torana BBQ trailer cake! It was a shame we had to eat it! A couple of door prizes were also awarded, with Daniel winning himself a free entry to the dyno day and Warren picking up a free club membership for a year!
