We met up at 7.15am on a Sunday (too early for some!) at the Scoresby Rd Shell Service station and cruised together to the All Ford Day down in Geelong. The day remained pretty damn good for looking at cars, low 20’s and no rain apart from a little drizzle in the morning. It was an hour and a half drive to Geelong and by the time we approached the Westgate Bridge it was easy to see that there was going to be quite a few cars heading our way. Each fuel and food stop was double parked with Fords (no not broken down). The event itself featured everything from classics to plastics, with people’s pride and joy’s ranging from Lasers to F series trucks. With 1280 approximate cars, there was plenty to look at, taking us two attempts to walk around and see all of them. Apparently this wasn’t even the biggest turn-out they’ve had! As we found out later, 1280 cars means traffic, and the only thing to take longer than walking around the displays was the time taken trying to get over the Westgate Bridge just to cross from one side to the other! Fun was had by everyone there. We came, we saw and we went home. - Ian (DEEPS) |
