Healesville Cruise – Monti’s Rock & Roll Pizza Diner

Sun 4th June 2006

This run was one of the last suggestions made by our much loved and missed member Dean Roberts.

Everybody started to gather at our usual meeting place of Club Kilsyth at about 4.30pm on a Sunday. There was roughly 25 people in about 14 cars that were participating in this cruise and I think it’s safe to say that we took the back roads to our final destination, with myself suffering a small dose of car sickness (of course that had nothing to do with the cans I was consuming). We arrived at our final destination of Monti’s Rock N Roll Diner in Healesville at about 6.30pm.

As we entered the café most people gathered around the fire while some of us made the most of the free Juke Box containing nothing but 50’s - 60’s & Rock N Roll. I would like to say thank you to James Mackie for putting on such a lovely and entertaining display of the Limbo Rock in front of the entire café and also thanks to those few members who enjoyed singing along with the jukebox occasionally. Both the friendly staff and atmosphere were fantastic and the meals enjoyed by all, although some people did get them a little later than others.

Dean; your suggestions and ideas for the club always proved to be very successful, and you managed to do it once again. Your presence within the club will be greatly missed by all, but our memories will always carry on...
