Lunar Drive-In Night - Dandenong

Sat 22nd April 2006

Meeting at our favourite old carpark Club Kilsyth, a small group of about 10 cars rocked up despite the fact the weather was looking very miserable. It was good to see a couple of new faces too. A bit of a chat, and then we were off. The first part of the cruise was up and over the mountain. As we wound our way along Mount Dandy Tourist Rd we copped a bit of drizzle and thought the sky was about to open up on us, however as we descended again it cleared up. We stopped to regroup at the Mountain Gate shopping centre, before jumping back in the cars to head in the direction of Dandenong.

Arriving at our destination for dinner with an army of hungry troops, I think just about everyone opted for the KFC option, so we all took advantage of the warmth inside and sat around having a feed and a chat. Before too long we were back in the cars yet again and it was onto the Lunar Drive-In. The weather stayed friendly for us, although it was quite a chilly night. The hot donuts went down a treat during the interval. Most people opted to watch Scary Movie 4 (stupid and funny, you can’t go wrong), followed by De-railed, which I thought was very good.

And that was it for the night, we all got organised and cruised off back home again. Overall, it was an excellent Saturday night! Thanks to everyone for bringing out the cars!
