Well our tale begins with our mighty hero's meeting at Bunnings car park in Bayswater on what just happened to be the day with the strongest gusts in Melbourne in about 10 years. A good turn out was achieved, about 25 cars in total and after a quick chat off we went, with heaters on flat out, we cruised up through Montrose, (the local bottle-o) and Mount Evelyn, around (and around and around) some slippery roundabouts and down Monbulk - Silvan road to our re-group location at Shell servo in Silvan. After a quick stop off we went through some really wild turns to Monbulk and then had a memorable run down the hill to Ferntree Gully where it all finished up at the Ferntree Gully Hotel carpark. We stood around and chatted and enjoyed a few drinks until the cold drove us off home (or to the pool room). A fun night was had by all, almost everyone still got to bed on time and the kids who were there loved it, so I encourage more of us to get out and enjoy our cars during the week. - (Big) Dave |
