Autobarn Car Show - Bayswater

Sun 25th March 2007

We had ourselves a great day down at Autobarn in Bayswater. Thanks to a good number turning up early, we managed to take control of the carpark and block off our territory! The display turned out great… people came and people went throughout the day for a total of around 35 display cars. Great weather, great food and great promo for the club. It had been a while since we'd put on a show n shine, so was excellent to see so many cars coming out to play, lots of new cars and new people too!

The bacon and egg brekky on the barbie proved extremely popular as always, as did the snags for the rest of the day. A dedicated crew worked very hard to keep that Torana BBQ going all day - thanks to everyone involved! You all did a mint job. Apparently they went through insane amounts of snags, bread, onion, bacon, eggs and drinks. It was good friendly competition for Bunnings!

Mid afternoon, head-honcho Mark from the Bayswater store, let his staff go wild as they sussed out our show and chose their stand-out cars. It wasn't based on best paint or biggest, wildest engine, but just what stood out to them and took their fancy…. their 4 chosen cars all then received some great prizes, very kindly donated by Mark and Autobarn:

PRIZES (In no particular order!!):

* Darryl's red LX
* Dave's green LX
* Gary's black HJ Monaro
* Quentin's pink LH

Thank you very much to Mark and all the Autobarn staff for having us and for providing such excellent prize packs; they were chock full of Meguiars products, clocks, stickers etc. Also, a massive thanks to Deb for organising the day! It was a huge success.

We have received a lot of very positive feedback on the car show so it looks like these style of events may be on our calendar a bit more regularly now. Quite a few pics have started appearing on the club forums… if you have any of your own, post them up for everyone to see! All in all, it was a very cruisey, laid back kinda day. What better way to spend a Sunday than to hang out and talk cars (and drool over all the shiny bits!). Catch ya's at the next one.
