Hi guys, it was great to see the small handful of cars from ESC that attended the Boronia Extreme Machine Car Show. We spotted Grant's SS Torana, Deb's EH, Jamie's Monaro and of course my HK Monaro. (We were there with the Monaro Owners Group). It was a great event, lots of action and heaps of stacks, yep the guys on 2 wheels. First jumps of the day from the Crusty Demon Juniors ended with the second landing as a big thump, dislocating his collar bone. Ambulance arrived. Shortly after that in the burn out comps which took place in the Tennis Courts all started well, smoking up the pad, then whoops, he flipped the bike, slicing the brake fluid line. Gee that got messy. Then it got fun. There were fully blown V8 drag boats and drag cars showing us their stuff, motorbikes, buggy's and club cars. Huge variety of food including Hot Potatoes, Hot Dogs, Pizza, Pancakes, Ice Creams. A live band covered the entertainment for the day. There was heaps of things for kids to do, Jumping Castles, Rock Climbs, Face Painting, Motorised Car Racing. We had photos with celebrity Collingwood rookie Jack Anthony. Throughout the day forms were given out for the peoples choice awards. At 3pm the raffle tickets were drawn and the Peoples Choice Award drawn. I would like to make a special thanks to the Monaro Owners Group members and my family for voting for my 1968 HK Monaro! All in all we had a great day and we would go back next time. - Tony |
