Eastside's 7th Birthday Party

Sat 8th August 2009

There’s no doubt it was a chilly winter night but the Eastside Cruisers 7th Anniversary party sure did heat it up. The gathering began around 7pm and the room filled quickly. The buzz of car banter and laughter filled the air. Those with some extra pocket change were greeted with Deb’s smiling face and a book of raffle tickets.

The night started with a door prize just for turning up. Then the mountain of raffle prizes just kept coming. Who had a blue ticket, who had a red ticket? I know it wasn’t me but it did not matter it was all in good fun. Next the Auction created some spirited bidding raising extra funds for the club. Those winning bidders who scored were very happy, especially Dave in his fight to the end for the V8 Supercar model, he just did not give up!

After the fever of the Auction died down those with any gold coins left had a shot at the coin toss for a bottle of Jim Beam. So many came so close but it was Tate who was victorious in his attempts. It’s his shout next time!

The night wound up around 11pm after lots of prizes, lots of laughs, lots of good food and plenty of liquor. A big thanks to Deb for all her hard work in putting the night together and to all the past and present committee members for their efforts in making the night such a success.
