The weather gods weren't smiling on us for this cruise with a balmy 9 degrees and 45km/h southerly winds blowing the rain horizontally at us but 8 cars braved the conditions and met at Bayswater Spotlight. After a short and cold discussion we decided to give the cruise to Pound Bend the flick and head to a closer and warmer destination. So we all fired up our cars and cruised in a convoy around the corner to the Dorset Gardens Hotel where we made our destination safe and sound. There we were met with unsuspecting waiting staff that seemed surprised and shocked to have a group of 15 or so people arrive unannounced. Once settled in we enjoyed the warmth, nice food and good conversation. It will probably go down as the shortest cruise in history (3.4km and 5 mins according to Google Maps) but it was a good get together none the less. Thanks to Grant for organising it and hopefully next time we'll get some better weather so that we can enjoy a slightly longer cruise. - Brett SS |
