The funny part is its still feral, feels yuk, was extremely hard to wash when i could barely fit in garage to clean it and trying not to spray everything in sight. So that buffing idea sounds awesome!!

Not much progress on the car lately.. but while the bay's still empty, I thought I'd finally do the "double knuckle" steering conversion.

I removed the flexible coupling (it had a good 10mm slop in it due to extractor heat frying it)....



Sorry for the super average phone photos... but here's the 2nd knuckle in place... heaps firmer, heaps more clearance, and less prone to flogging out now...

It's a great mod! I'm really happy with it on my car! How much firmer does the steering feel now!

Now I have driven mine with the new setup I have noticed it is a heap more responsive

yep grouse setup and well worth doing! too bad the old holden cotter pin setup is no good for big loads i ended up having to weld my uni's to the shaft because they kept coming loose and wearing out the shafts from skids

in keeping with safety, you can install the normal joint but in nolathane. then you dont get the harmonics through the steering wheel

The Nolathane joints have been know to melt from the heat from the extractors... If they don't melt, they fail after getting hot, then cold over and over again!
