if you can actually get an older style davies craig one you would be better off. the new ones are solid state which is great but they will only come on when they reach like 190 degress which is normally not much good for a hotty on a hot day. the early style ones you can make the fans come on from stone cold if you want. as for the magna switches etc, some cars they work great in others they dont, main reason is they are designed to maintain a temperature, we have put a few in limo's and they work great on a cooler day but get a 40 degree day and the temp begins to creep a bit.

the new ones cant be made to come on really early.. the old ones you can set to come on at stone cold if you want. they had a proper set of contacts inside them. ive got the new style on my patrol and cant make it come on under almost 1/2 which is about 90 deg c.

Hi Brett,
Sorry it took soo long
thermo fan switch is a TFS139 buy at repce from a mitsubishi magna 1985-1991
M16 x 1.5mm thread
single wire
turns on at 85 deg C and off at 80 deg C
mount near the thermostat on engine
either in a existing bung or drill and tap a new hole
run a 170 thermostat
should run all day without switching anything at around 180 deg F
can help with wiring diagram if you need or want
cheers
iso
